THT Get Togethers - Jacksonville/St Augustine area

I tried this over the holidays but got minimum response. so will levae it here for a week or two.

Anyone interested in a THT get together somewhere in between Jax and St Auggie. Maybe the British Pub on Route 1 just north of St Augustine Airport?

If we get enough interest I will float dates.

If I am going to make the drive Saturday would be better.

Sorry 'bout that. sharkiw and Doug threw it for a bit of a loop when they suggested a kunchtime meet. I'm not really interested in that because it pretty much screws up the whole day!

Now I'm traveling the first 3 weeks of april.

It was Menzies idea originally. I don't think it's right that we do it when he is unavailable unless we do it again sometime to include him as well. Maybe he can suggest an alt. date. Anytime is good for me on saturdays.

Can I come ? Here's some ideas ... Hurricane Pattie's at Oyster Creek Marina (I can show you my Blackfin) ... Conch House Restaurant and Marina ... King Fish Grill at Camachee Cove (marina) ... if you are more into steak ... Longhorn Steakhouse is decent.

The Conch House or Comanchee cove work for me or anywhere else downtown for that matter. I might could come by boat from NSB and spend the night :thumbsup:

Can't make it Saturday the 3rd at this point. I have been trying to get my 15 year old daughter to get a group of her friends together so I can take them out on the ICW in NSB for a cruise and waterside lunch. Most of these kids have never experienced the water. She finally made the calls and it looks like a go for tomorrow. I thought about dragging them up to St Augustine, but decided that bringing 4 15 year old girls to meet a group of THT guys might not look so good!

I'll check back here in case something falls through or it gets pushed to Sunday. I'm always up for meeting new people with common interests.

Thats memorial day weekend. I go to the conch house every year on that sunday. If you come by boat you can tie up with me. If you come by car your welcome to hang out on my boat we'll have lots of cold beer. I will be there early(11 ish) so I can get a spot. look for a white 36 yellowfin.

There's nothing on my schedule that weekend. It looks like it may actually happen! Is the Conch House a zoo on a holiday weekend?

How long would it take to get there from Bings Landing in Palm Coast by boat? I can cruise low 30's and top out around 47.

sundays are "reggae sundays" it's going to get crowded after 2:00. real crowded cause it's a three day weekend. but its still fun.

Inquired to the Conch House and they are requiring 3 night min. stay at 150.00 per + 40.00 per night for my boat for that weekend. Just a bit steep (3 night min.) Will do the boat trip another time.

We started up from Delray Beach April 22 & lost a lower unit the next day in St Augistine. Thankfully,there was an E-Tec dealer in the area but he's 3 weeks backlogged so our poor little boat sits at Comanchee Cove with a missing lower unit (at $600 a month!). Anybody seen it? I'll buy whoever guesses the builder of the boat a beer!(It's the pale yellowish one with a tower & twin [make that 1 & 1/2) 250 E-tecs on a bracket!

OK, just got through three weekends of AAU basketball so can look at this again.

One thought is to set a date far enough out that everyone can plan to it.

So what about Saturday June 28, which is the weekend before the July 4th weekend?

Conch House in St Auggie. Might even take the boat down for the night.

I plan to come by car from Orlando 5/25. Gashogg - will your spouse be there? I was going to bring my wife and daughter with me. They are pretty shy and I am trying to talk them into it. I figured we'd hang out with you guys for a while then maybe walk around town in the afternoon, have dinner somewhere and head back. I'd come by boat, but I plan to trailer it to NSB on Saturday and back to Orlando the same day. The idea of pulling it to NSB one day and then to St Aug the next form Orlando isn't real exciting.

sprockets- yes my wife will be there. we will have three other very nice couples with us. your plan sounds good. come hang out with us around noon and you will miss the big crowds. I think your wife and daughter will have alot of fun.

I reckon my wife and I can show up.

By the way, as an aside, and in no way to hijack the thread... I just want to address you local guys. I just put a 7000 btu Marine Air on Ebay. If you know any local people who might need one, it's a great deal. PM me if interested.

I looked for you today. Didn't see the boat missing the lower unit. Did see a yellow boat named Relentless. Guess I missed it.

By the way, That Marine A/C is gone. Lasted about 4 hours on Ebay. Easier than I thought.

Never once has that statement ever worked out for the best. Kept me out of jail sure, but with some of the tongue lashings I've gotten from my wife after staggering in @ 04 early after a night of Irish Car Bombs? Jeez. I'm better off keeping the keys.

BUT, if Menzies shows up I just might need a few Bushmills to get me through the first hour........................which lends me to; are there any ground rules? Like; no politics, religion, Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge, OMC vs Merc vs Yamaha, fish/stripper stories without photo proof?

They're not real excited about pounding beers on the dock with a bunch of online guys I've never met. Not that y'all aren't good guys, but I get some interesting remarks from my daughter who has had it drilled into her head how to be careful online.

I hope our boat is still there; We're paying slip rental for something! You guys have a good time at your get together...looks like we're going to be stuck there for a whilelonger. The E-tec tech found that the prop shaft rung in half & E-tec wants the hours off of the engines (way less than 100). Hopefully we'll be up & running with a new lower unit soon!

Well we finally pulled it off. I drove up from Orlando and met Gashogg, Doug's Ambush and Sharkie1211 at the Conch House. Gashogg ran his sweet boat down from Jacksonville and after lunch we hung out on the boat with some additional friends he brought with him. Thanks for the hospitality, we had a great time. Next time I'll come on my own, way too much scenery to have the family with me. It was great to finally meet you guys.

I think DAY'UM better describes the scenery today. I think I got whiplash and it wasn't in the cobra on I-95.
I think it safe to say, a good time was had by all and what a gracious host was Gashogg. Trip 300 verados, and what a georgeous boat boys, easilly the most beautiful boat at that dock today not to mention the crew!!
Jeff, hope your wife and daughter had fun in town, the place was getting even crazier when we left- wall to wall people.

No I put in at st augustine or in palm valley. there are a few of 36 YF's with verados in jacksonville.

Yep thats teh CH on sundays (out of football season of course). Its a good time, little bit of a madhouse but a good time none-the-less. We need to do a THT fishing trip one day.
