I have had 3 surflo bait well pumps on my 2005 key west 19.5 bay reef. They all have leaked salt water into the bearing and siezed up. the last one, lasted one month. I returned it to surflo in Ca and they refused to warrenty and now they won't return it home without me paying for shipping these things are junk.

I've had great results with their customer support. I do competive fishing and they have always warranted my pumps regardless. What model was it? PM me and maybe I can offer some help

The shureflow pump will have a date on it. I believe they are warranted for 1 year.
So,if you buy one from west Marine; Check the date of mfg thru the plactic packaging.
Sometimes that is hard to see.It could be 4-5 months different than your purchase date.
Maybe take a photo or scan one of the new pump with the receipt beside it.
Save your receipt , this could help resolve the issue.
Same thing applies to battery warranties.
Now if you are trying to get a replacement a second time ,I don't think you will have much luck.
The companies have warranty data in their computer files.
We have had excellent luck with the magnetic pump version. Occasionally it will clog up , the pump has very poor flow or none. The motor is running , but the pump is not pumping. Therefore, the pump motor does not burn up.
My Shurflo Sentry has been great so far for two seasons. How do you have it mounted?

The 1100GPH Sentry is the ones we use.
Could not find Company web site , but Boaters World say 3 year limited warranty.
Build date I believe is on the sticker.

the maf date was april 2007 and I purchased it form Boaters World (which would replace it ) but surflo has it and will not send it back to me., unless I pay shipping. They have some (english not his first lanquage) tech telling me I did something to screw it up. I now have a $20. walmart attwood 750 doing a better job than the surflo. So you know what Pedro can do with it sideways
It was mounted Horizonal
Key West had the first one mounted with the pump on top so I when I replaced the first one I did the same but the last on I read the Instructions

I always had good experience with the support but good really tired of R&Ring the pumps. 1100 magnetic drive model. Bearings would wear out - no water intrusion. Switched to Rules and no problems since.
