What did they Get Into?

On Friday night, the opening day of Speedweeks 2008, Busch and Tony Stewart were involved in a fender bender at the end of the backstretch, which deposited Busch's car into the outside wall.

Busch's car bounced off the wall and, with the caution lights illuminated, he barely slowed, ran down Stewart's car on the entrance to pit road and, while still a long way from the actual service alley, drove his car into the side of Stewart's three times, apparently to express his displeasure (watch video).

Those two are carrying over their feud from last year...
The video is on Nascar.com.

Congrats to Junior and also awesome job to Tony in a Toyota.

Thanks for the update. it was nice to see JR come out of the blocks last night. I think the new car at all tracks will make for an exciting season. As for Busch... I would love see Smoke, Harvick or anyone clean his clock. Don't know what it is, but he and his brother just seem to be two guys that I would not want to have a beer with.

I'm with you on the Busch boys. The admiral and I will be at Daytona for both races this year, maybe we'll get to see some-one get revenge on those two. Should be a great race.

Congrats to The"88"...Popular win! It's hard for me to believe Stewart actually drove a pretty smart race and did not do anything dumb.... When it comes to attitude, Tony and Kurt are two of a kind, but they both can flat drive a racecar....No penalties, just another racing incident.
Have fun at Daytonna. We were there year before last...

Good Luck,

NASCAR sucks now...to commercialized, all of my favorite drivers are dead, retired, or drive toyotas now (meaning there retired to me). Oh by the way no more "Busch" series it now the Nationwide series. But for all that I hope Jr. does well this year he better since he sold out and went to the team with my most hated drivers. Oh and the cars are now just indy-type cars with fenders...Ahh the good old days...to bad NASCAR went and got popular. ;?

I agree with most of this, except the Dale remark. How convienent is it for toyota right now..... Major brands stick woith NASCAR for 50 years... development , training, wind tunnel, promotion...... Then here comes the C.O.T. peice of crap.

All toyota has to do now os provide an engine and a few "camry" stickers, and presto ! your in the game. NASCAR kicked the traditional sponsors in the nuts with that one. When someone does win with a "toyota" youll see more Miller and Bud cans tossed on the course than if Jeff Gordon spun Dale Jr. for a win

But to the Dale Issue......

Dale SR. stared and built DEI in the hopes that one day he would be able to hand it to his son a daughter. Its documented, he said it all the time....When he died, it all went kaput. Enter money hungry step-mom and he attorneys...

Teresa Earnhardt was basically holding Dale Jr hostage. She wanted him to pay 55 million for something that was already his. That woman is a terrible person. Sure, make him buy in... but at a premium? DEI was dead without Dale JR when his dad died. If he had walked then, teresa would be making her money from selling off SR's memorabilia on E-Bay.

Good for Dale JR. I just hope that when Budweisers contract with DEI runs up next year they too make the switch and go with JR.

The Bud car is Elliot, or Dale Jr......

NASCAR sucks now but not because its too commercial, it has always been commercial. It sucks because it has become "major league" and is trying to appeal to the mass TV market rather than the fan base.

Also too many BS rules. The worst is how the caution/pit stop/pit road speed limits rules have nearly ruined racing. I would prefer to go back to the way NASCAR was about 1980. I preferred NASCAR before it was "major league".

A simple fix for the caution/pit stop/pit road speed limits rules problem would be to implement a two lap penalty for pitting during a yellow flag. That would let caution periods be used for what they were intended, clearing the track and returning to racing. Pitting under green would be ok because everybody would have to stop when they needed, not when everybody else stopped. It makes too much sense but it would take away from NASCAR's ability to control the flow of the race for TV so I don't expect it to happen soon.

I don't care about foreign cars in NASCAR. There were foreign cars in NASCAR in the early days and Big Bill France Sr encouraged it. If Dale Jr drove for Nissan it would be ok with me and more reflective of what the American public drives now anyway. Do you know anyone that actually drives a Monte Carlo? I don't.

I see no similarity of Cup cars to Indy Cars. They have absolutely nothing in common and haven't for about 70 years. I would prefer to see actual stock cars closer to what you can buy at a dealer show room with common things such as turbochargers, EFI, DOHC, IRS. Cup cars now are a bizarre reproduction of a type of car (1967 Ford V-8 RWD Fairlane coupe) that hasn't been produced in years. I gave up worrying about the cars years ago because they are totally irrelevant now. I think its unfortunate but apparently its what the the fans want.

I still look forward to the races and I will be at the Daytona 500 next Sunday. Just wish I could roll the clock back on NASCAR about 30 years.

Nascar is getting to vanilla and the drivers are afraid to voice their opinions or show emotion due to getting points docked.

NASCAR NEEDS TO LOOK BACK AT WHAT PUT THEM ON THE MAP, DAYTONA 500 WHEN CALE YARBOUROUGH AND DONNIE AND BOBBY ALLISON GOT INTO A FIST FIGHT ON THE BACK STRETCH ON NATIONAL TV.

That showed the passion these guys had for winning and they did not worry about the damn points all they wanted to do was win or just bring the steering wheel back to the garage.

Most of todays drivers, while very talented, do not have the balls of the older guys and Nascar has "beat them down" so much they are afraid to react. Bring back the days of Dale Jarrett throwing the helmet at somebody at Bristol,Jimmy Spencer bitch slapping one of the Keebler Elves(Kurt Busch) and old Ironhead himself telling the whinners if they do not want to run 215 mph at Talledega all they have to do is take their wussie foots of the gas pedal
