don't really need to know about one place you have been to or how many fish you caught whenever you went to wherever.

Really looking for an expert, or an outfitter you can suggest on where, when, who, what, on BOTH sides--- as in inshore and offshore for a planned fishing trip for two over a weeks time.
thanks.

check with Felipe, he is the owner of www.gooddayteam.com and can book anything you want. I have used him for about 10 years. Probably 15+ trips.

Bring lotsa money - 3 days on the Caribbean for robalo and sabalo is about $2000 each and from $2000-4000 on the Pacific for Pez Vela depending on where you're going. Add another $500-900 for airfare from home, a couple hundred for a decent hotel in San Jose and you've got a great vacation.

That's an old webpage - Juanga hasn't been on that boat since 2006. He's on the A-fin-ity in Guatemala.

I surely don't claim to be an "expert" but I've got to agree with Cabolew...

Felipe at www.gooddayteam.com has ALWAYS taken good care of me. Tell him I recommend (Dave Newsom).

If fishing this time of year (out of Quepos), I would recommend Tulemar Bungalos....great location, beautiful view, nice beach down below for the wives.

View from bed at Tulemar.

Or, if your looking to save a few $, let me know.

You can stay at my place in Maneul Antonio....A little rustic (no hot water, no ac/, no tel, etc) but the price is right.

My house (what a dump).

Los Suenos (as recommended above) is very, very nice also (as long as you stay right their at Herradura) although, I do not really care for the Jaco area that much. If I was going to stay in the Jaco area, would probably opt for Hermosa area (just south). Check out the Backyard Motel and Restaurant Bar there.

I would at least talk with Felipe (www.gooddayteam.com) before I made any decisions. You will not regret it.

FKOWTY:

There are distinct advantages to fishing out of the Los Suenos area as opposed to fishing out of Quepos that offer better oportunities to have a more successful day on the water. While Phillipe and Goodday are no doubt a good operation in Quepos, it is to your benefit to fish from up here in Los Suenos. Also know we have plenty of beautiful accomodations for you in all price ranges, views and locations in and around the Los Suenos Resort & Marina.

Yes, It is true that the Quepos boats and Los Suenos boats often fish the same waters. This typically happens when the bite is happening south or South West of Los Suenos. The advantage of fishing out of Los Suenos is that if the bite is not happening to the South-South West, the Los Suenos boats have the option of running further North to find a bite, ie... cover more territory and fish other areas, wheras the Quepos Offshore boats do not have that option due to time and fuel consumption constraints.

While anyone could argue that it is more expensive to fish out of Los Suenos, which is true, and is no secret, considering the Los Suenos boats have a lot more expenses associated with the high cost of slip rental and other fees that go along with being docked at a full service, five star Marina. However if spending just a few more dollars for an exotic fishing vacation brings you better opprtunities on the water, shorter travel time, and a better overall expereince, why not do so?

On another note, the Manuel Antonio area is beautiful, and a must see and visit spot during your stay here. Quepos and Manuel Antonio are only about an hour ride South of Jaco, and makes for a great day or two day trip.

2.) The ride is a grueling one from San Jose' to Quepos. You cut an hour or more off each of your transfer time by fishing and staying in the Los Suenos-Jaco area.

3.) There is an enormous selection of very nice accomodations in and around the Jaco-Los Suenos area to fit any budget. For example, the standard accomodations in our packages include staying in a luxury oceanview and jungle view Condo just 10 minutes from Los Suenos Marina. We have several very nice hotel type accomodations as well, both in Jaco central, or outside of the developed center in a more remote and nature oriented setting, yet only 15 minutes from the Marina or the center of Jaco.

I hope you find these facts helpful in making the important decision as to where to spend your Fishing vacation time while in Costa Rica.

Hookedoncostarica makes some very good points. I do not disagree. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. While I prefer a little south, many, many folks prefer north (Tamarindo). As Hooked says, Jaco is very centrally located and affords options to visit many other places.

I only suggest that, before you book, at least talk with Felipe and see what kind of package he can pull together.

Hooked,

I've got to visit my attorney in S.J. next month....assuming my backs healed, may want to check out your boat and perhaps take a charter.

Hows the fishing right now?

We have a fleet of the top 14 Charter boats out of Los Suenos ranging in size from 29-60ft. There are 29 boats that charter out of Los Suenos, only 14 have earned the right to carry our guests. We have over 20 years in the Sport Fishing and Travel business and know who runs the highest quality trips, and who's willing to run a little further and stay out a little longer to make sure our guests get the best chances at a successful day on the water.

Also please know that we offer the most complete and unique packages here that include a level of service that nobody else delivers, at a price very few can match. We are with every group from the moment they arrive at the airport to the moment they depart, offering full translation, guide, concierge' and safety services. If you'd like, I'll gladly email our various package offerings. I think you'll be surprised at everything that we include for the price.

Please feel free to give me a call when you get into Costa Rica. I'd be glad to show you our operation, boats and the general area. My local cell phone number is 372-2627. Its a local call from anywhere in the country. Fishing has been great so far this peak season. Our boats are raising a lot of nice big Sailfish with an 90-120lb average, Giant Mahi's, nicde Yellow Fin Tuna and several Black, Blue and Striped Marlin in the mix.

Parker Boys:

Stop by and see me or call me at 372-2627. Also know for future reference, that simply by going through us, you will always pay between $50-$100 less per day for a boat out of Los Suenos, than by booking with the boat directly or going through anyone else.....and we offer the better boats. The same holds true for Condo rentals both In & Outside of Los Suenos. If you guys are planning on doing a Zip-Line Canopy Tour, ATV tour, Or WhiteWater Rafting trip, call me first! You will get discounts through us with the better perators of these tours. If you book through Marriot's tour desk or anywhre else, you will end up paying more for the same tours in most cases.

I am always available to offer anyone assistance that is planning a trip to the Los Suenos region. I know where all the best restaurants, shopping, eco-tours, and hidden treasures here are to help you have a complete expreince here.

Just curious. Where are you going to go?

My only final advice....

Stay away from those Parker Boys at the Beatle Bar...As my wife often reminds me, "nothing good happens there"...

But then again, how would she know????

Hasta luego.

Hooked...

Looking like late February or early March. I know thats right in your busy season but I would at least like to stop by and check out your operation.

One day in SJ. Then on to Jaco to stay with my sister a couple of days. Then on down to Quepos to address some septic tank issues.

Hope to check out your operation while in Jaco. Got your number.

Parker Boy, maybe I'll see you at the B.B.
