Sounds good, I arrive in Cape Coral on Feb 21 and depart back to Canada on the 2nd of March. Lets see who else chimes in.

I "assume" your flying in? I'm the Manager for Westjet / Air Canada / Sunwing here in Fort Myers. Which airline are you flying on?

Yes, I am flying in on Air Canada from Halifax through Toronto. You probably know Tracey who manages Jet Blue. I am good friends with her dad, Tom Morgan.

Hey guys. I am in. Somebody say the when and the where..... how bout North Captiva on the outside? With cold water that time of year, not too many people are going to wanna get wet. Will pass the word to a few friends as well...more the merrier. Sunday afternoon sounds good? When's good for you all?

Sounds fantastic...I would love an upgrade. I will gaurantee the cocktails of your choice at the raftup. I was out with Tracey for a few beer just before New Years. What a small world. This site always amazes me!

I am coming into Ft. Myers on Feb 21st for a Grady White meet at Ft. Myers Beach. We are flying in on Air Tran and staying at the Ft. Myers Beach Holiday Inn. We are getting together with a bunch of Grady White Owners in that area for a couple days of rafting up and fishing on there boats.

I am trying to find the best way to get to the Hotel from the Airport. Hopefully we will have good weather. Good Luck on your get together.

I will be getting in around 1030, and the rest of my group gets in around 130 on 2/21. I was thinking about renting a car, but it is out of sight ($70 Day).

We have done a few parties through the FS website at Caya Costa with a nice turnout of members from FM to Sarasota. We anchor and beach at the cove on the icw side just south of Charlotte Harbor. Its a very nice spot with deep water right up to the beach. Well protected from the wind/waves.
Heres the thread from that bash to give you an idea of the location and the other one is pics from the beach. We are do for another so if we combined the efforts of both websites we would likely have a great turnout. Just a suggestion. If your interested I will post over there.

Yes!

Captiva is a little too far for any of coming from the north. Caya Costa is already and hour and half for me by ICW and this time of year thats where I wil likely have to run. My spot ws just a suggestion. Oneof you guys needs to pick a spot and a date. Having organized these more than a few times I can gauruntee not everyone will be happy. If I can hook up with you guys thats great and I will bring the Margorator!

Having been to both spots, the nicer of the two ESPECIALLY in February is the Cayo Costa spot becaue it's so much more protected from the wind. Looks like a lot of you are like me with young kids.....that spot seems so much better and has a good track record from the FS Forum guys feedback.
Though it's a longer run for me and the other Fort Myers guys, that's the spot I suggest.
What's everyone else think?
Perhaps somebody could take the lead and state the date and time as Sunday the 24th of Feb at 1 pm so I can run and put in on the warden's new " getting organized in 08 new year's resolution" calendar. Gotta get it up there before she schedules another nail appointment on my precious day off. LOL.

Do to some unexpected boat repairs, I will not be boating until late Feb. I may hitch a ride with a buddy if he is intersted.

I would like to get together somewhere a little closer to Ft. Myers/Cape Coral.

Hey Scott, gave your pops the flyer and folder. The flyer will need a flame wrench to get it loose but it's worth the work. Its a bigg azz Sharkmaster with razor tip. I would make the trek and bring the beasties for a raft up but unfortunately (not) I will be neck deep in Colorado Powder at that time. Have fun.

I am at Fort Myers Beach for 2-wks with my wife 2 daughters son inlaws and 4 grand children.I also wonder if anyone has a boat smaller than a 30.My boat is a 18 ft key west with a 90 4-stroke Honda .Top end for me is only 35mph.Any information on where to beach and any places to eat or drink would be helpful. I trailered my boat down from Boston and have no idear what any of the Florida rules and regulation are.Can I approach Fort Myers Beach to pick up my kids and grand kids?How about fishing?Best inshore spots etc.Best land based bars.Have been to Beached Whale.I am staying 2tnts of a mile on the beach. On another note... if you know a buddy who is looking to get into a boat or upsize/downsize, please pass along that I am looking to share expenses on my 06' Marlago 35', she's kept at Sanibel Harbor Yacht Club. Beautiful boat and great arrangement!

When it warms, yes! But..the problem is not enough folks use this forum. I dont htink we could actually organize a raft-up anyway.

And if we do... the best we could manage would be a "calling all Ft Myers THT members anchor outside LANI KAI on ......

Sounds like a great idea my wife and I have bin trying to make some boating friends since we moved here 4 years ago .WE use to raft up with about 12 to 15 boats up north .We like to fish or raft up.

I know its several months to years old, but if anyone is putting something together I'm in!
