The Carolinas - offshore hilton head 12/09

Got a late start from palmetto bluff(no thanks to me sleeping through my alarm for 45 mins)left the dock at around 4:45...got to the ledge and put em out found that temp break that was 15 miles south the day before and had moved right up the ledge where we were fishing... lot of action... we went 6 for 7 on the blackfin... 0 for 1 on the wahoo..
236 for 278 on the bonito... also got a skip jack a a few cudas... first two tuna were caught on blue and white feathers in the shotgun.... and that was in the first hour of trolling so we had some high hopes for the lure until some jerk off in a 34 venture trolled through our spread 50 yards from our transom and cut it off ...(only one).. rest were caught on feathers WTFB....beautiful day with a great crew... http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w31/solo464646/tuna001.jpg

solo- how far out is the ledge? We'll be there the day after christmas for a week. Have never really had any luck down there and have given it a shot a good bit. Any help would be great!!

we fish the south ledge during the winter because it seems much more productive than the deli.... it is about an 80 mile run give or take a few miles.. but it can be worth it...if you need someone local to go with you just let me know...

Hey Solo... New here to HHI with a boat being delivered on 1/3. Have any numbers you'd like to share for a run out to the ledge. Never been out that far before.Fished mostly around the "hump" with my neighbor. I'd love to make it out that far soon before the weather heats up again....
