Hey guys,

I plan to head down to Morehead early Sunday AM. Is there anything worth trolling for off the beach to a couple miles out? In short what's biting this time of year? 3 or 4 miles out is all my wife can stand for me to take her offshore.

Thanks in advance!

You should be able to catch all the False Albacore you want (blue fish as well). Or, you could head over to the Cape Lookout Rock Jetty and catch speckeled trout. If too rough, you should be able to anchor up around the rock jetty behind Shackelford Banks (Beaufort Inlet) and catch trout there as well. Good luck.

Boltune- I didn't think about the rock jetty at radio island for trout, thanks for the tip.

What method do you use to catch the albacore with? Do you have to cast plugs or mirror lures to them? Will they hit anything small and flashy?

Often, I troll Yozuri Deep Divers (medium to small size). They seem to be pretty effective and it doesn't take a lot of effort. However, I also cast Silver Stings and spoons to them as well.
