Anyone else still fishing off of Southern Maine? Does the no cod rule apply in Maine state and offshore waters too? I last went out last Friday and got 8 cod including a couple of would-be keepers a couple of miles off of Portland, all released because I'm not sure what the rules are after Nov. 1 here. 5 lb cod fight surprisingly well when caught on lighter gear in 40-60' of water, totally different animal than when you catch them in 300'. Any other reports?

I am looking for getting out there for a couple of last ditch trips. where did you go (lat, long if you got em) for those cod/
as for the laws at this time, i'm pretty sure your average Joe can fish in the gulf of Maine taking keeper sized cod.
