I was wondering if any Contender owners here have had any experience with their customer service. I have tried to contact Contender via email several times and I faxed them as well and they have not responded. I did not see a phone number anywhere on their web site either. How long do you think would be a reasonable respose time. Thank you ;?

The one time I had a question, it was answered within a day or two. I think going to a Contender dealership, such as Boat Center, will be a better route.

EOD is right. I had a few questions when I bought my boat used. Questions concerning how the boat was wired for certain things and adding another washdown, thruhulls to match, transducer placement etc. Both the Contender dealer here (PowerMarine) and calling Contender directly fixed me up with the parts and the information. Even though I bought the boat used both were extemely helpfull......Mark

I found their CS to be horrible.... the reason i never bought a contender or looked at one.... No list of dealers, had to fill out that BS info on Contender.com, and no dealer "called" me and told me where they were... horrible set-up...
THEIR LOSS....

I owned a Contender for 9 years and any time I called I got a live person one the phone and always had great service from them. Often times getting connected to the VP to address any issues or concerns. For a company their sized I thought it was good. Emailing companies is generally a poor choice as most do not have the capability to respond timely or properly in same.

Thank you for all of your replies. I just purchased a new to me very lightly used 2007 25s from my local dealer. The only problem I have is that the boat did not come with any manuals. The dealer told me Contenders do not come with a manual. (Which I have a hard time believing). So I figured I would try to contact them directly. I will try to call the phone number above. Thanks again.

The dealer is correct in the fact Contender has no owners manual for the boat itself. You should however get a packet with manuals on the engines, and misc. items (trim tabs, compass, etc.) . You should also get an extra pint of gel coat that matches your bottom or side color, drain plugs, and fuel cap keys.
As far as the CS at the factory......... In the past it was pretty good, but in the last 2-3 years I have seen a dramatic change. Dealers cannot get parts in a timely fashion, Contender does not offer the dealers salespeople any factory or in house formal training, I have even been shown email's from Contender to one of thier dealers and I was pretty surprised how they spoke to the dealer. I have also spoken with several Contender employees over the years and they are never hesitant to slam any of thier dealers which I thought was very unprofessional. Even being around some of the Contender reps at a tourney and they started poking fun of the fisherman and making comments about the wives. They make a great hull, but it is almost like their heads have gotten a little to big with the success that has came their way.
