This is a bit of an odd post, but a group of 3 kiteboarders is looking for someone with a boat that can accompany us across Lake Michigan before we run out of decent weather for the 2007 season.

Our previous 4 boater "volunteers" have all backed out and left us in a pickle.

We'd be going in 15-20 kt. sustained, gusting to 30, tops, winds. Max waves: 3-5' (preferred forecast: 1'-3').

Route is from Two Rivers, WI to Ludington MI (or reverse, depending on winds). About 54 mi.

The boat would be ahead of the kiteboarders, needing to sustain up to 25kts. in the above conditions. This helps "plow down" the swell/waves ahead of the riders. There will need to be a safety spotter from the group on board in radio contact with the riders.

What's in it for you: name your price. A few items worth mentioning, though: we are going for a world's "first", so you'll get some notoriety and press coverage yourself. It's also a fund raiser for a Children's Hospital. So it's tax deductible for whatever amount you are compensated for that is below the actual costs (fuel, depreciation, etc.) incurred. ("Consult your tax advisor...")

I know there are some drool-inspiring large speedboats out there that are up to the challenge. So, help out a great cause, get some free P.R. for yourself (or your company), and have an adventure this summer, while there's still time!

Call or e-mail if interested.

Sincerely,

Chaz
