I've just started saltwater fishing on my own and realized there is more to it than i first thought. I've been out many time with friends and they always made it look easy so i thought i could do it on my own and boy was i wrong. All i have is a 18' neptune with a 90 johnson so i'm not able to go out too far but i was wondering if anyone had any advice as to where and how to troll and/or bottom fish within 10 or 12 miles of murrells inlet. I've been able to get on a few black bass and spanish mackerel but nothing to bragg about. I would appreciate any advice anyone might have...thanks in advance....

You might want to try slow trolling cigar minnows 1-3 knots, Myrtle beach rocks and Belky bear might be close enough to shore for your boat. Drag a large silver rattle trap in your center spot and keep it in the prop wash. I catch alot of fish on the rattle trap in the wash. Also any live bottom near your inlet should hold some fish. I have caught kings and barracuda around belky and the rocks. ~Jetty Jay~
