Anyone have any fixes. ;? gas hand reading empty when boat is on and full of gas. It is a 94 seaswirl with a 35 gallon tank. 140 hp evinrude.

Oh, the gas gauge no longer works.

Two things, it is either the gauge itself, or the sending unit in the tank. Most times, it is the sending unit.

Check to be sure the wires connected to the gauge are secure and clean, do the same at the sending unit.

You can use a multimeter to test the resistance of the sending unit to see if it is bad. Set the meter to Ohms and read the resistance between the two wires that connect to the sending unit. If you see nothing but "0" the sending unit is bad.
