I was wondering if there is a local fisherman chat room, Little river, Ocean isle etc. ?
I never seem to run into other fisherman at my marina at Harbour gate. I see a couple of shrimpers. But not many guys doing recreational fishing. Just wondering if there is a site that locals talk about the local waters? Jetty Jay

Thanks, I was hoping to chat with locals here that fish the waters off SC/NC border. I noticed that alot of the boats out around where I fish seem tight lipped. I was trolling by a boat tuesday in the jungle and I hooked up and fought the fish slung him in and radioed them to see if they were getting anything and they ignored my calls. Oh well go figure. I caught five or six fish within eyeshot of them and couldnt raise them on the radio. But when I asked for a radiocheck the coast guard answered me. Its a big ocean and plenty of fish to go around.

Probably didn't hail them on a channel they were monitoring.

Your right, this is probably the best place to chat with guys from this area. I dont get to mingle much with local fisherman. I monitor my radio when Im fishing but it seems a little "clique ish". I have my honey holes where I do well. But sometimes it would be nice to chat with the other boats. Maybe its my Yankee accent LOL. But I married a country girl and lived here ten years now. Thanks, I will try to touch base when I'm out there. Sometimes I am out and the only boats I see are way off in the distance. If I do happen to touch base with other boats , I feel more relaxed. My cell is out of range most of the time I am trolling .I generally stay within 30 miles. On occasion I have ran to the stream, but not recently. Most of my time is spent around the Jungle or the finger, Or I run to the ledge. I haven't fished 90/90 this year yet, even though its closer. I might give it a shot this week. JJ

I go to the fryingpan tower site all the time as well as OIF site of Capt Brandts. Which I read daily for the reports. I learned alot from the OIF site, and the links. JJ

THT needs a real-time IRC style chat...not much chance of that now though...

Thanks I will, I almost bought a house on Ocean isle a few years back. I live out in the country outside of Loris, But I have two oceanfront condos in cherry grove. That I use when they are not rented. Mostly after season in the fall when the kings are big. Hope to see you on the water.~JJ~

There are tons of free chat rooms out there that can be used. All you need is a date, time and topic.

Check channel 6 and also 71. A lot of guys run on these two. Reel Ride and I am normally out of Southport. If you have trouble finding fishing spots, give me a call. Out usually every couple of weekends. Sounds stupid, but, just call out into the mic are there any tht guys out there. You will get hit back. Craig
