Dockside Chat - Kimber Firearms

Are there any Kimber pistol owners out there?? I saw one recently and it took all I could do not to buy it. Craftsmanship looked very good. My last .45 was a Colt 1991 A1 and I sold it. MISTAKE...I have regreted it ever since and have wanted another .45 pistol.

Kimbers are quality firearms and are made to the same spec's as the Colts..... I don't personally own any Kimbers but have friends that do and those that I have shot were okay. The reason I don't own any Kimbers is because I own 7 Colt 1911's....... :thumbsup:

I have a Kimber 45, Royal something-or-other. I had it customized, compensated and accurized for pinshooting. The craftmanship exceeds the colts. I love it. :thumbsup:

I don't own a Kimber but I have shot several of them and would love to own one. Their quality and craftsmanship is awesome, and there are lots of custom parts available for them.

Kimbers are great guns, but I've never owned or fired one of their pistols. Back in my gun dealing days we carried Kimber when they first came out with their .22 rifle. That was one sweet little gun. Too bad I didn't hang on to one of those things.

I own a few Kimber 1911's and the 22 rifle Freebird mentioned. All beautifully finished and perform great right out out the box. I have also visited their factory for some custom mods. Highly automated, quality operation. :thumbsup:

Nothing wrong with Kimber.

A very fine firearm. I'm partial to my custom Colt Series 70 but I'd buy one if I had the money to burn. I installed laser grips on a friends .45. Talk about a point and shoot gun. :)

I have shot the Kimber and yes it is a very fine gun. Currently shooting the Colt Mark IV's for comparison (1 officer model +1 full sized ported). The only thing that bothered me on the Kimber is it did not like light loads, this might just be a tuning problem.

I own and shoot kimbers.A darn good and accurate firearm.The only problem with them are their rear sights I have had way too many of them break off.The kimber folks would always send new ones ,it seemed to go on the fly at about 4thousand rounds so I replaced them with bomars.Other than that absolutely no problems.

I have a Kimber Ultra Carry II. It has a stainless slide, with an aluminum handle. I put a laser grip on it also. This is one bad ass hand cannon. Oh, I also have a 15 round mag for it too. It's a .45. :o :o :o :o

Hey Country great guns I do not own one but piss my buddy off when I shoot circles around him with his. I own a springfield a-1 and i like it but not as much as the Kimber did not have the money at the time and Kimber refused to put the intrenal trigger lock that the great communist state of Maryland Mandated. Found out that I could get one through another party because of my job.

Yall are making it hard for me to drive past that gun and not buy it. If I bring home another gun, my wife may just use it on me :bashhh: Hmmmmmm....Maybe a fathers day present............ :grin:

I'm a wimp ;) Even thinking about selling my SW 29. Custom from the factory, solid rib and unfluted cyl SW logo pacmeyer grips. The stainless steel Anaconda is better around water. :)

IMO guns link kimber (of that caliber of craftsmanship) are pieces that should be reserved for the range, there are plenty of good, durable, and very reliable utilitarian carry pieces available. that said, they are great guns, but for comparable money, at least look at a Para-Ordinance. Their triggers have a much better feel IMO w/out being too light.

I have had one Para - ordinance and I traded it several years ago. I had no major complaints with it. One of my favorite pistols is a Sig P-220 and it is probably the most accurate " out of the box " .45 that I have shot. I had that one, and like a dumbazz, I traded it for something else ( mini-14 ).

Own two Kimbers, one blue, one stainless....shot USPSA comp in limited category...llluuuvvv them peestols!
Hense my screen name....I used to use .45semi....but everyone just called me semi and it stuck.

I have a Kimber CDP full size version. It is a great firearm. No compliants except that I wish I would have bought a compact size so it would easy to carry concealed. My best friend is a special ops task force police officer. He has to carry a Glock at work but will only carry a Kimber 'after hours'. :thumbsup:

yeah I love my sig p220 stainless. Great gun and very accurate
