Anyone know anything about this radio? It seems like a good deal for a commercial class D radio at $250.

Yea, it is a great radio. But do you need all those functions? You may, depending on your boat. My boat is a small center console, so I do not need the intercom or the loud hailer and all. Do you plan to be out in all kinds of weather (fog, rain, etc)? Do you need an intercom, loud hailer, and fog horn? Do you need the telephone style keypad - or even know what one would be used for on a boat?

If so, then the Quantum is great. If not check out something like the Quest X and save some money for bait/beer/gas. The Quest X sells for around $120.

Both the Quest X and the Quantum are class D DSC radios. The Quest X does not have the intercom, loud hailer, and fog horn features.

I have one and that's a great price in your link. I have been very satisfied with the radio and one of the things I really like is it's large built-in speaker and it's sound quality.
