I have one small are on a 1998 23 outrage that is not foamed for thur hull stuff. I have a Furuno Nav net system and am looking for a better transducer than transom mount-Anyone out there tackle this whaler hull issue?? The shoot thru's I've seen are rather large and do not fit my round hole area. Mark

Yep, I have a new 22 McKee Craft which has a similar cored hull to the BW. I had a marine installer do my M 260 shoot thru. He cut/grouind out the inner skin and core material leaving the exterior layers. I would not try it on a first-time basis due to the skill needed. I have a Raymarine C 120 with the DM 300 (as I remember the model number) and the dual transducer is super!! Good luck!!

Arcata! I miss that place... I used to fish a lot out of Trinidad. There is no marine electronics installers in Eureka or Crescent City that could help you with this? I guess they have to be familiar with the Whaler hulls...

The Airmar P79 is a decent (only decent, not top of the line) shoot-thru and is round and very compact. You might look at their website and get the diameter....might be small enough to sit on top of your un-foamed area. They have cable ends compatible with most Furunos. As a plus, or at least a plus to me, it is cheap.

I'll post at whaler site-I know it well.
I fished salmon out of Trinidad yesterday-still a sleepy port-Freds marine is it around Eureka and glass hulls are not his thing-he is great with most all other things.
p79 is a 600 watt unit which is what I have 2 of on transom now. Looking for 1k for my Furuno nav net system.Mark

Ono,
I would recommend going to Redding to have it done. Or atleast checking it out before you make the drive down here.
There are many boat builders there.
SF can be over priced and overrated. IMO.
