I have a Lowrance LCX 15-mt (Yeah I know it's old) GPS / Fishfinder. Recently a buddy of mine recommended that I try the Navionics chip in the unit instead of Map Create. According to Navionics I need the Upper Chesapeake US822L MMC chip to cover the area that i fish in. Is anyone familiar with this process, chip, where I can get it, can I download it etc etc. Any and all advice is always welcomed.

You can not download it. It has to be purchased through a Navionics dealer. I would recommend BOE, a sponsor here on the site. I think the chip you would need is the Classic series. I had the LCX15 for years and it is a great unit. The Navionics is a huge upgrade to the MapCreate software. Shows depth contours and more nav aids then the MapCreate.
