This is part of my radar I am told. What does it stand for and what does it do?

My guess is Low Noise Frequency Converter

For a good Definition = enter into Google

They are usually after the units A/D (Analog to Digital converter) between the Antenna/ Array and the rest of the signal processing within your RADAR

It is a mixer/down converter that is part of the signaling process from radome to display.
