Does anyone come from there? What is it like? What is there to do for Adults/Kids? How is the boating life?

Thanks!
Jason

It's a nice lake but not a resort by any means. Unless you have a boat and/or access to a house there really isn't anything to do except maybe picnic and swim at an access area.

What about around the lake on land? Amusements for kids? Local shops, etc? Any Restaurants/stores on the lake? Thanks!

Jason,
Not much on the lake itself but Hickory is the closest town with plenty to do.
If your in need of new furniture this would be a good time to check out the deals between Hickory and Lenior.
The lake tends to be a bit dirty after the spring rains but does hold some nice stripers. Lake Norman to the south
is much larger with more on water facilities..........

I heard Lake Normal is hell & extremely busy. True? What is there to do on it? Thanks!

At 32,000 acres and 520 miles of shoreline yup better have a good sized boat if you plan on weekending in season. "Hell" nope just the largest inland body of water in NC. Do a search for the Mariner Magazine or Lake Norman Magazine both will help with the lakes in NC.
