Took advantage of the great Florida weather, caught this Sheepshead Sunday at the Mayport Jetties, along with 3 other sheepshead, one Black Drum, 4 Yellow mouth Trout, 6 Bluefish. We had lots of fun and ended up with a nice mess of fish.

Capt Dave,
You just had to burst my bubble. ;? I just wanted to show off a sheepshead that we don't hear much about from the THT's on here.
I don't know if I can tackle a 10 pounder on the light tackle I use, I caught that one on a light action bass rod. It was a lot of fun and great eating. I've caught hundreds off those rocks over the years never a 10 pound plus. You will have to show me sometime where to find the big ones.

It's really all about "time of year".....that one I'm holding was a beautiful female specimen. She's all colorful and was showing off.
I caught here in the exact same place I catch alot of Trout, Flounder and even a 14 pound Cobia and a 7.5 pound Jewfish this past December, along with it's lil brother a 1.5 pounder.
All within sight of the JFK.
here's the Jewfish.....making a comeback inshore like the good ole days!

Gonna need at least a dozen brand new fillet knives to tackle that mess. After that trouble, it will be some Gooooood eating.

A good electric fillet knife works wonders, cut right thru the rib cage and then come back and cut it out....... I usually wash the boat and my partner cleans the fish.. Most times I get the better end of that deal    and the best part is they are soooooo good to eat
