Just purchased an Everglades 243cc, F 250 Yamaha! I am looking to purchase a saltwater trolling motor! Have looked at Lenco Troll N Tabs, Minn Kota bow mounted Rip Tide pro 101 & Motor Guide bow mounted SW 109! Please let me hear your pro's and con's! Thanks GREG 1154

I have a Riptide 65 and it has done well, I also looked at the lenco's before but for my use the bow mount worked better. We slow troll with electric motors for landlocked stripers and the bow mount is easier to manuver in the wind. I also have heard of a lot of durability issues with the lencos but those that have them say they work great.
I would imagine it depend on what type of fishing you will be doing and how much you will use them

I'd stay away from Minn kota. I just threw away my Riptide it became a two piece trolling motor during heavy seas. That and the fact that I'm on a first name basis with the trolling motor repair guy because of that motor and it's problems with malfunctioning circuit boards and what have you. Every person I know with the riptide has had the minn kota fixed many times.
Check out this report.

This SWBA compromises a large percentage of the So. California market for trolling motors and many are very dissatisfied with the Minnkota. Many who have not chimed in and I personally know.
I replaced with the new wireless motorguide and am very impressed so far.
