Just purchased an Edgewater 185 CC. When running it leans to port just a little. Love the boat however, dont like the lean... Did not seem to do it on the test ride as much. Anyone else with the same problem?

Did your test ride have more than 1 person in it ? How many are in it now? some lean due to prop torque is normal and only Trim Tab's of load shifting will make that go away !!!!...Little more info is needed...John

my boat has a very slight list to port also when running. i guess its because both batteries and oil storage tank are all on the port side.
was a good excuse for me to get trim tabs. they are worth the money.

I have a 2000 EW185. Very happy w/the boat. I did have the same problem until I put Bennett tabs on it. You can see my tab installation at http://www.bennetttrimtabs.com/project.htm

Congrats on your new boat. It will serve you well!

Great boat, but Tabs are a must! Bennetts work great and the ride will be even better if you can believe that. No small v-hull boat will ride perfectly upright all the time due to changing weight and balance and sea conditions. Even motor trim can affect that some.

I had a 1998 EW 185CC with a 135 Optimax and did not notice a lean. Had the batteries on one side and the oil on the other. Might want to check the fin on your motor. Sometimes they work loose or disappear. It has a decent v so you might try shifting around some. I had to drive in various positions, depending on the load.

Skippy, where did you buy your boat, Collin's or Atlantic Marine?

Cool, they'll take care of you. David runs a nice operation down there. They have a competent service staff too....unlike the other aforementioned.....
