I have a 21' express style boat and would like to add curtains to my existing soft top.
What is the approximate cost to either buy one ready-made or have one made up in a canvas shop?
Thanks in advance.

We have Amish shops up in Erie--- a small hand full of Ben Franklins will get a lot of Canvas and work is great!

Thanks for the info.
Erie PA or WV? If PA, that's not too far, since I'm in Baltimore every week.
How many Ben Franklins do you figure? $500-$1000? $1000-$1500? $1500-$2000?
Thanks again.

Thanks, guys. Was just trying to get an appxoximate cost. I'm attempting to make it myself, and want to know how much cash I'm saving/wasting, depending on how it turns out. Will post the results, both short and long term.

I'll give you a hint what it is...Everyone hates them on here...and everyone hates the power it has...(except those people who actually own them or have owned them).

depending on grade vinyl and fabrics. about $1200 - $1800 front window with center opening, 2 side panels and rear enclosure with center roll up door ans canvas lower half. cost would vary from 40 guage vinyl to strataglass barrett bonded windows ect.

Would love to see some do it yourself pictures- I am going to make my own as well this spring, being an electrician I can bend all the pipes with ease, I just need to find some close up photos of the "custom" built ones everyone buys. Good luck!

Tony, saw it on the other board. Nice work for a first try. I'm sure it'll be another fish catching machine.

Hey Paul, why don't you shoot across the lake into Port Dover Ont. to have a top made? Dollar for dollar you'll spend the same money, just you'll have that exchange rate working for yah.

Airslot - Thill, whats the beater boat?

The same as a beater car... The old car that you keep around and don't worry about locking. The one you don't worry about waxing, but actually USE. :D

I intentionally didn't put much time or money into it. (approx 10 hours, and less than $200) Now that I think about it, I wish I'd gone to the next thicker vinyl and put more time into making it pretty. It will work just fine, but I guess it's a pride thing...
