Default Boats selling?

I have gotten one lead only, who might pay me half of what I am asking for my boat. Are others finding it this bad?

Forgot one more. Should close on my personal boat tomorrow (2008 Jones Brothers Cape Fisherman). I'll hopefully be picking up my 2009 in March!

Sal, I lowered my price $10,000 and haven't got any interest. Its below market value and considering what a new 'Pursuit' cost its a great buy. I,m looking to move up & have the boat picked out, if its not already sold.

Oh well, I'll wait like everyone else.

Congratulation to all that sold theirs.

Here's my boat,

Hey Bob,

Any bass boats selling? Does your service have any luck with bass boats? Been thinking of letting my 08' Bass Cat go. New baby here and the wife said I don't need all these toys anymore.

Chet - for $200 list it and see what happens. I came to my price after watching boattrader and such for awhile. I've seen about a dozen 265 Expresses just sitting and waiting to be sold. Then last month a 265 Express went up near me for $70K. The ad was gone in a couple of weeks - figured it had been sold. That's how I came to my asking price of $72.5 ... the boat was gone in 2 weeks.

I pulled my Black Watch off the market. Like you, Themis, all I got was low-ballers and tire-kickers for the most part since I listed it early last October. A couple said they were very interested, but never called back. This is by no means a reflection on AnglersEdge...I think they offer a great service for the money.
I think the economy, time of year, and age of my boat created obstacles that most prospective buyers couldn't overcome.
If I ever decide to sell in the future, I will be making the call to Bob again.

I got your email about pulling it off market yesterday. I would advise against doing that. You have only been up for 4 months. Larger express/SF style boats usually take a little longer no matter what the market. Also have had it listed during the off season. The buying has just started to get really good lately. If tire kickers are bothering you then we should just tag it at a firm price period! Even say serious inquiries ONLY...Or I can take the emails and calls and weed through them for you.

The other reason is because you are getting interest! I have some other tricks as well if you want to give a call to discuss. It only takes one serious buyer. Let me know if you really want me to pull it??

Tight lines, Bob

I think now is a great time to list. Boat shows are underway and buyers are getting sticker sock at the shows. They come home and jump on the computer to look for a used deal. Now until June is the hot time for the boat market even in this economy. I would think used may be out selling new. Bob trying to get my ducks in a row. Will call you soon.
Thanks.

Good luck W.

Tough time I know. I dont want to keep the dang thing to just put in in the water for six weeks. Someone buy her!

I sing Bob's praises too; My Parker went real easy due to AnglersEdge. Now I just need someone to buy my overpriced teeth-jarring kidney-pounding Whaler!

The 13' Whaler I will never sell. She is so damn portable and fun.

My boat sold in 4 months for within $250 of what I had it listed for. I also listed it for a Selling price and not an Asking price. That and it being the best of the breed made it sell.
Bob, I spoke with the guy that called today on the boat and offered up some suggestions to him. He should use your site as a valued reference.

Thanks Bob, I sold my 2005 Wellcraft Sportsman 220, got a fair price for the market. I appreciate your help, after a slow start I got at least 6 good inquiries since the beginning of the year and closed the deal for about 90% of my asking price.

We actually brought Themis' boat down just a hair (What IMO was the right price) He then had a bunch of leads. We pretty much had it sold last week. Buyer had great credit score except it looks like the banks are looking back 5 years in your history now. Would have been done if it weren't for late mortgage payments from 4 years ago. Thought it was going to be a slam dunk.

None of my guys have been selling thier boats for far less than their value is. You just gotta get the right guy. Only takes one buyer. Sometimes the problem may be a saturation of a particular make and model. Supply and demand dictates resale value. Yours will go too. Themis knows it works. I sold his last boat as well.

Tight lines, Bob
