I never see fishermen put a spinning rod/reel in their mouth to take a fish picture. Why is it so common for fly fishermen?

the same reason a hunter leans the gun or bow on there kill.... its just to show what there weapon of choice was...

Absolutely..I am heading to Block Island next wed the 6th thru the 14th. Hopefully I will have some pics to put up as well .. . .Caught a couple nice browns this morning but sweetwater fish don't count
