I have a 2000 200hp optimax. While flushing the engine the other day(from the hose connection), I noticed that there was water comming out where I never saw it before. It was comming out of the box with the screw on it(one on both sides of the engine about4x4 inches). About three inches above where the lower unit seperates from the engine. Normally it comes out of the pee hole and out near the prop. Any ideas?

check the poppet valve, is located on the starboard side of the engine, you have to remove starboard bottom cowl to get to it. And does water come out the pee hole when flushing from lower unit, if it doesn't then check your water pump.
