Tilt/Trim not working

I have a 1996 Aquasport Explorer with a 200 Johnson.

This past Friday, I raised the motor all the way as I was docked. When I went to lower nothing happened.

The next morning the motor lowered to the point where the trim should have kicked in and stopped. It will not go up or down.

Anybody have a clue at to where to start looking for the problem?

Does the trim motor run? If not check for an electical problem. If the motor runs it could be a hydraulic problem. Remember there is a manual release accessed through a hole in the clamp bracket to let the engine down. More info will help me to direct you.

Thanks for the info on the manual release. I knew there is one, not sure where it was.

Motor does not run. I will check for Electrical problem.
