Default Suzuki motors ??

I am looking at a boat with a 1998 Suzuki 140HP, here in Alabama it is bass boat country! All you see is Merc, E-rude, Johnson. Are these good motors ? easy to service or find someone who can service it ?
Thanks

Suzuki makes a fine engine. Before you purchase you need to find a nearby source for parts and service. The reason you see a concentration of makes in an area is because there service facilities nearby. No matter how good an engine is, it will need some service. The frustration from time and distance to get that service will overcome any pleasure you may have had. Buy a rig that you can have serviced locally.
