The starter solenoid is where I would start troubleshooting. Disconnect the battery and check across the large terminals with an ohmmeter. If you have continuity the solenoid is bad. If the meter shows infinity disconnect the small wires from the solenoid and check for continuity. You should read infinity, unless the button is pushed. The problem should be in one of these areas. Make sure the battery terminals are clean when you finish the repair. Low voltage from corroded terminals can cause solenoid damage.
