Default Found this in fuel line

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me with this problem. I have a yamaha fuel management system with twin outboards. I could not get gas past my primer bulb when pumping. I thought it was my sender unit because I was having problems with the strb side intermittingly. I ordered new sender unit and after taking off old sender unit I could not blow through the sender unit. I took off the hose on the output side of sender unit and it was clogged with this piece of rubber. I am going to post a picture of this soft piece of rubber. What do you think it came from? Do you think this could of caused my outboard connected to this fuel line to burn a hole in #5 piston(2 stroke 150)?

Fuel restriction may have caused the piston failure. A good tech will check for other causes when he disassembles and reassembles the engine. O dont think the rubber plug came from the fuel system. It looks like something dropped into the fuel system during assembly or rigging.
