Default 2004 200HP Evinrude DI - Thermostats
I am trying to replace the thermostats on my 2004 200HP Evinrude DI, with the E-Tec 225 HP thermostats, but I cannot get the thermostat covers off. I am afraid to break them. Is there some special tool, or a good procedure for getting them off?

The covers may have gasket sealer on them which has hardened. Use a 13/16 6 point socket to avoid rounding the corners.
