1986 70 evinrude peeing/smoke - The Hull Truth

Bought a 1986 evinrude, it does not pee and the outhole actually looks like it wasnt ever made to, water comes out of the exhaust fine though. The guy said that particular year was not made to pee and that the water pump was replaced. The motor ran fine for the 30 min run we took it on. Also I noticed it smokes a healthy amount and that the fuel line might be dry rotted/cracked, based on other posts I've read, the smoke could be a vacuum problem from the fuel line correct?

The overboard indicator on this engine is a hose that starts at the lower part of the exhaust cover on the left side of the engine and loops over the top of the powerhead to exit through the lower engine pan on the right side. Check the hose for blockage, it should have a stream of water coming from it when the engine is running.
A vacuum leak in the fuel hose can cause heavy smoking. Replace the fuel line if it is cracked. Be sure the connections do not leak.
