Stuck lower unit - The Hull Truth

Hello, I have twin 1988, Johnson 225,s, I have owned them about a month, I am trying to get them offshore ready. Went to pull off lower unit today and am positive that got all the bolts(it is kind of loose or flops around side to side). I also unhooked the shift rod. Now this thing just wont come off. I havent broken anything yet hitting it with a plastic deadblow. but i have noticed some marks that looks like someone had trouble before and wedged a screwdriver in the gap between the lower and midsection. The only thing that I can imagine is that the driveshaft splines are stuck? What is your recomendation? Thanks in advance!!

It is very likely the driveshaft is stuck in the crankshaft splines. Contact your dealer for his method of removing gearcase. This many time requires sacrificing components to facilitate removal. It is very important to lube the driveshaft splines each time the gearcase is installed.
