You need to tee into the fuel line going into the VRO and check the vecuum while the engine is running. If the vacuum is below 5 inches and the light goes off, the problem may be the switch. The VRO has gone through many improvements through the years, so it is best to replace with a new one.

The light did not go on at idle when i tested vacuum.
test the vro at idle?
could it be temp sensor by t stats? ground brown/blue wire and horn/light goes on.is the test no?
what about the fuel pressure sensor? Purple deal behind air cover? test procedure?
thanks again.

You can test the temp SWITCH by disconnecting them when the light is on. Switch works by grounding when temp is too high. Vacuum switch also works by grounding when vacuum is too high. I'm not sure what you mean by purple deal behind aiir cover. What color wires go to the purple deal?
