Default carb yamaha 150

Hi I have a 2002 carbed yamaha 150 2 stroke, the engine was running terrible, surging, stalling, so I took your advice and cleaned the carbs(wow what a difference, she runs all the way to 5200 rpm.)prroblem is i marked everything except the oil pump push rod, the pickup on the carb has 2 holes for the rod to install, i put it in the hole furthest from the engine(if you were standing on the boat looking aft, its the hole closest to you) does it matter what hole i use.thanks
