Default 2002 200 HP Yamaha HPDI Will not start

I let my engine sit up since June 2007. It kicks over strong and almost started yesterday. I noticed the fuel/water sep bowl was empty.I replaced with a new fileter and bowl. Put in fresh gas as the internal tank was about empty.

Pumped the bulb but could not get the bulb to pull from the tank. Pulled the hose from the tank and blew into it. Seemed plugged but freed up. Attached a vacume pump to the hose and pulled some fuel from the tank. Primed the bulb and got it to pull but it goes flat almost immediately.

EMpteied the internal filter bowl and put fresh gas in the bowl.

Engine will not fire at all.

I know I should not have let it set up so long.

Thanks for any comments/help.

It sounds like the electic fuel pump in the vapor separator tank may not be working. Have your dealer put a pressure gauge on the VST. While he is checking pressures have him check output pressure from the crankcase pulse pumps and check vacuum on the tank line. When you get things running correctly be sure to use Stabil when you store.

When I got home last night, the bulb would pump up hard. The previous day it would not. I kicked the engine over and it fired but did not catch. The bat then went dead. I'll try again tonifghtwith a fully cahrged battery.

Thank you for your response.
