01' 225 VMAX Fuel Problem Help! I bought my boat from my uncle back in august and i was aware that the motor wasnt running correctly. Since ive had it, ive replaced the spark plugs, O2 sensor, VST filter, fuel filter in clear bowl on engine, 3 lp fuel pump diaphrams. After all of this, the motor has run fine until recently. Last trip out when it was running properly, i ran out of fuel and was towed in to the nearest boat ramp. from there the gentleman drove me to the gas station and we filled up a 5 gallon tank. After putting the 5 gallons in the boat, drove it back to where i put in and that was that. Since then i changed the water fuel seperator inline which hadnt been changed in quite some time. The old filter was a quiksilver, and the new one is a yamaha 10 micron. Started her up in the driveway and noticed it doesnt sound right, took her to the water, started idling down the river and the engine sneezed and shut off like it was out of fuel. pumped up the prime bulb and took her back to the dock and it kept doing the same thing, the bulb goes flat as a flounder. I now have changed the anti siphon valve thinking it had gone bad as well as the prime bulb and also purchased another quiksilver filter thinking maybe the assembly was only for quiksilver however its doing the same thing. WHen the engine fires up it sounds like it isnt running on all cylinders, and also is extremely more smokey when it turns over. Ive checked the clear bowl filter assembly to make sure it is screwed on tight and it is. What do you think is going on with my motor? I am about to rip all of my hair out!!! Please help and thanks for your assistance.
