Re: Idle for 1992 200HP Mercury? Your motor is idling a bit slow and there could be a lot of different or a combination things that could cause that. First is engine health, what are the compression numbers and when was the last time it was decarbonized? Are both cylinder heads at the correct temperature? Did you go through each of the recirculation hoses, valves, and fittings to make sure everything was clean and flowing? How about the linkage snchronization?
You will need a sharp mechanic or your own knowledge and expertise from the factory service manual to make sure everything is "up to snuff", then adjust the idle speed.
