Default 150 HPDI servicing questions

Hi, I have a 2004 HPDI 150hp

When bleeding the oil pump as in the service manual and disconnected the feed hose and oil should FLOW. Now I would not call it flowing more like intermittent weeping is this normal? It would seem to me as being enough oil for the amount that HPDI’s use. The oil out of the bleed screw I would call flowing.

The first filter on the motor; after priming to the top of the cup it seems to level out just above the bottom of the filter element when running. Changed all my fuel lines and didn’t notice this before if it is normal.

When priming VST you do use the primer bulb, correct? My concern with this is about the oil being injected in the tank as well. How does oil get injected if you use the primer bulb for filling VST after being emptied?

Thank you for any help,

Very little oil comes out of the crankcase lines even when the oil pump lever is at full-stroke.

The fuel filter normally does not fill up. Don't forget to change out the super expensive mid-pressure fuel filter, the metal cannister, between the VST and the belt driven high pressure pump. Yamaha now says every 100 hours.

Yep, that is what the primer ball is for.

Hi, A1 Outboard

About the super expensive mid-pressure fuel filter, is there anything I need to know about removing the air that gets in the lines when servicing?
Also I see they have changed part numbers on that filter for my motor do you know why or what is different from the old number.

Thank you so much A1 Outboard for your help

It will bleed the air out with no problem. The old filter would collapse internally and make the motor run lean. The latest version is a better filter.
