Re: Johnson 9.9 shift adjustment!! Adjustment is easy, according to the service manual, you screw the shaft all the way in and only turn it outward just enough to line up the offset.
Be sure to install new brass pieces on both ends and new plastic tapered retainers. IF it still acts up, there is some adjustment up at the shift lever linkage area on the stb. side of the motor. I'd recommend using the service manual or hiring an experienced mechanic for that.
