Default Converting 25hp Johnson to Electric Start
Is it possible to convert a 1996 Johnson 25hp (model J25RLED) from manual to electric start? If so, is there a kit available to do the conversion? Approx. cost?

there is a kit available and the reason it is so expensive is because a new flywheel is included, along with the new starter, bracket, wiring, etc. The kit number is 174784 and sells for about $699
