We want to know the truth !! is it best to use the OEM 2 stroke oils or can off-brand be used ? if so, whcih are the good ones ?

Most modern motors - 2-strokes - are made to run on a TC-W3 oil. Now all oils are not the same, the more expensive oils have more carbon cleaning additives in them and carbon is what prematurely kills an outboard. Stuck rings are the biggest cause of scored cylinders and blown engines. Factory oils are considered better that off the shelf oils because the factories want their motors to last and run well for the customer. That is one reason that they are a bit more expensive than others.
