Depending on what model Evinrude controls you have, some have a friction adjustment for the throttle lever to keep it from creeping.

The new style Evinrude controls that came out a couple of years ago work great and feel positive and smooth.

A1,

Do you have any ballpark ideas as to how much the new style controls go for? I also have twin 2000 ocean runners and would be interested in upgrading.

Thank you

Talk to an Evinrude/Johnson dealer

I had the new BRP controls before and they are sweeeeettt... I switched from the old black kind of crappy loosie OMC ontrols and cables to the new BRP grey controls and Blue Uflex cables, and MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE...much smoother and with way less slack, also the look of it is so much beter.

Also, if you have twins, the control comes with a switch for each engine and another one to use them together... I thought that features was a cool improvement

I would strongly recommend you to get in touch with johnRude in cape canaveral, FL , he is a member of this forum and great customer service on his shop, but I think you can talk to any dealer....

Aqua,

I have a Pursuit 2550 with twin 150's. Like emudryj said, they are just "crappy loosie" and sometimes have trouble hitting neutral. I have gone through 2 sets of cables in just over 2 years.

I have a local BRP dealer that i will check with.
