Default 99 225 Ficht

I know how important it is to keep the passage tubes supplying water to and from the ECM free of blockage
the hose feeding the bottom of the ecm is routed threw the vapor separator can
are there check valves in the can because I can not blow threw the 2 nipples of the separator can?
but can blow freely threw the cooling hoses if separated from the can
so the question is can I blow directly threw the vapor separator can??????????

Thanks Bogii

It sounds like you've been running shallow and picked up mud, sand, shell, etc. and it lodged in the VST cooling passageway. Don't use compressed air as it can blow the oring seals and water will get into the fuel system and damage the expensive injectors.

Use a ty-wrap end to push into the hose fittings and carefully blow with your lungs through the VST at both inlet and outlet. Work back and forth and usually the packed sand, or mud will start to break up and come out. Be patient and work slowly.

Code 17 is low voltage in the 12 volt circuit. Either the alternator is intermittent (bad regulator and/or stator) or there is corrosion or resistance in cables, connectors, or a bad battery.

Thanks A1 I put a new used reg rectifier and stator for the 2nd time think I was sold some bad used parts
well she fired up without going into safe mode also went to a wet cell for the starter side as I was told the AGM matt batts can heat up
the regulator over time and fry it even thou the 99 is water cooled?????
any truth to this our did i just waste 129.00$ on a battery
so yes code 17 was the stator reg rectifier

Happy camper Bogii 835 trouble free hours till now. If you got a good one these are strong motors with no smoke and great milage

Stay with wet-cell batteries and check them monthly. AGM are troublesome in boats because the outboard's charging system is not as sophisticated in regulating amps and volts. AGM's are very sensitive to charging.
