Yamaha specifies that the pump should be inspected/replaced once a year or 100 hours. If you run in the shallows, pickup sand or mud at times, then the pump should be replaced at least annually. If you run offshore or in deep or rocky areas with no debris in the water, then every other year should be fine. Never go longer than 3 seasons no matter what. Saltwater use requires more often inspections as the bolts can freeze up if not "exercised" enough or marine grease not put on the threads.

Thermostats should be inspected at least yearly to make sure they are operational and not corroded or fouled with trash or weeds.

The poppet valve should be serviced with the thermostats, unless cooling problems make inspections required more often, or running in sand or mud obstructs the valve.
