Default 200 Optimax rpm's

I have 2002 Twin Opti’s (New in 04) with 326 hrs. Runs excellent. I am only getting 5160 for top RPM’s. Spinning Mirage Plus 17P props. They are on a 2001 26 Boston Whaler Conquest. Is this normal? Shouldn’t these motors get up to 5500 RPM?
Thanks in advance.

Have you always gotten around 5160 rpm or was it higher and dropped all of a sudden? Is their bottom paint on the boat? Have you added any components or had work done that could affect the weight of the boat?

Yes, I did add 2 house batteries, and a diesel furnace with a 6 gallon fuel tank. Could those addons make the difference? If so, what is the best recourse?

Not only the weight but the weight distribution may be the problem. It is easy and failry inexpensive to get the props repitched or purchase new ones. Just to be on the same side, have a trained Opti mechanic look over the motors and pull the computer reports, and make sure all adjustments and fuel flows are correct.
