Default Cold Start Head Aches

I recently gave my 1992 225 HP Evinrude to my nephew The engine had been in storage for a few years but started immedately went we hung on the tansoms It was running great all summer than became difficult to start when cold & has gotten progressive worst until it is almost impossible to start cold. The motor run great after it is started & give us no problems once warmed up but that 1st in the morning has gotten impossible. Locally Evinrude dealer said it was the starter not spin fast enough Replaced Starter, Batteeries & cables same problem starting cold
Any suggestions

Make sure the motor is in a level postion, not trimmed up, hold the primer ball with the arrow up and squeeze until it is rock hard, turn the key to ON and press it in for a few seconds, then while holding it in, turn to START. Once the motor starts, you may need to push in the "choke" momentarily a few times until the motor warms up enough. Make sure the thermostats are operational. Do not move the throttle from the idle position as the motor has a built in warm-up rpm when starting.

The motor shoudl fireup within 10 seconds when cold. If not, then troubleshooting is needed by a pro. The motor neeeds to turn over about 300-350 rpm to generate a strong enough spark. If the primer ball will not get rock hard, find out if there is a carb leak or replace the ball with a GENUINE Evinrude one.
