150 ficht - The Hull Truth

i have a 98 150 ficht that after idle in no wake for 5-10 minutes when trying to throttle up the no oil light comes on and motor goes into safe mode. have changed oil pump with new but same problem . any thoughts, thanks, mark

witch pump did you replace & did you do a pressure check on system..

The NO OIL light comes on when the oil pressure drops below 4 psi or if there is an electrical problem with the oil injector. A laptop with the diagnostic software is needed to see which error codes are stored in the motor.

You can check the oil pressure by removing the pressure sender and installing a 60 psi gauge and reading the pressures while duplicating the problem. The oil pressure regulator could be to blame also, as well as a kink in the oil line, sludge in the oil tank, or a restricted filter in the tank. Since the tank is 10 years old, when was it last cleaned, filter changed, and inspected?
