Default 2000 150hp Johnson Ocean Runner Question

i have been getting a fuel restriction warning on port engine with no loss if RPM, fuel flow (as per Lowrance LMF 400) and changed the racors. Over the winter i had the tank cleaned and fuel polished.

One of the theories presented to me was that perhaps the "vacuum sensor" is going bad. The only other thing that i can think of, but dont know anything about is, are there fuel filters on/in the engine? Are the vacuum sensors subject to failure? Any advise is greatly appreciated.

thanks

A failed vacuum switch does happen but it's pretty rare. The quick way to check it is to us a Mity-Vac vaccum tool hooked up to the switch. Either use an ohmeter on the wires or turn the key to ON with the motor not running and pump the Mity-Vac until the ohmeter shows continuity or the CheckEngine lite comes on. It should come on at about 6" Hg. If it comes on lower or higher than the 5-7 Hg range, then the switch is faulty. As it would be if you see any leakage from it.
