Default Yamaha Water pump

I have a HPDI 150 Yamaha I statred her up just to burn off some gas, the pee stream was working fine then the alarm with off I killed it. Note I have never had a water pump put on it since I bought her new, I have maybe 40 hr on her maybe less I have always cleaned & flushed her out good. Now the pump is more than likey gone & I am going to repair her. But what makes the pump stop pumping & am I in for alot of work delaying to have one put on. I am going to do this myself & is there a spec for torqing down the bolts are should you just do it by feel, my model has a tube bulit on the side were you can hook up a water hose can you flush out the block while its running with this hooked up I was told yes & no the one that said no said your not cleaning out the bottom half.

Default Re: Yamaha Water pump

I have twin 2000 150HPDI's and did my water pumps myself for the first time this spring by myself .It was alot easier then I thought.I had someone help me pull the lower unit off because I was sure how heavy it was.It also helps with someone putting it back because you have to get the shaft back in.Give it a try you wont regret it and you'll save some money for gas.
